Hi doctor I am so stressful and depression are driving me insane. I had unprotected sex witj high risk hiv catch. I got 4th generation test on 8 weeks . Result show negative and at weeks 11 i had a second test by 4th generation and result stil show our negative. May i ask is there any diffirence between 11 weeks and 12 weeks. Do i need to get another test at 12 weeks. And also is high anxiety level may affect the test or not at all. Plz answer me. I am so stressful . Wish u all the best
The time it takes for converting from negative to positive is called a "window period". This is possible to happen even after 6 months. If you had a negative 4th generation test after 3 months you are likely to be negative. Please test again after 6months. Anxiety/Depression will not affect the test result. Please in future use protection.
